Riad Enija

The “Café de France” in Marrakech is situated in front of the “Kharbouch Mosque” on the legendary “Jamaa El Fna” piazza, a bewitching chaos with all the infatuation of 1001 Arabian nights. At the entrance of Derb Tabbachi and on a road leading to the Kahba Kedima (a small road of Derb Masfioui Tend) is located the old family palazzo of the 280 year old ENIJA riad. It was once the proud home of a kaid.
It was later purchased by a silk merchant from Fez who hired the best craftsmen and builders to renew and convert the house for his family of nearly 40 people.
After the end of the renovations in 1988, this palazzo of 1001 Arabian nights was opened as a very special hotel with our family acting as custodians of a living part of history.
