Morocco is very various from the geographical point of view and it passes from the level of the sea to
that of the tall mountains 4.000m, from the temperatures of Mediterranean coast to the arid borders
of the Sahara.
The climate in the coastal regions is generally mild, but it can become cold and damp,
particularly in the north. The daily middle temperature to Tangeri and Casablanca goes around
from almost 12° Cs in winter (from December to February) to 25° Cs in the summer (from June to August).
The precipitations are particularly abundant in the Rif and in the Middle northern Atlas, where only the
summer months are dry. In the rest of the country, the rains mainly fall between November and March,
but they are an unpredictable event and the drought represents one of the greatest worries for the big
part of the population. Along the Atlantic coast the temperatures rarely go down under the 10° Cs, but
a strong wind often blows. The Atlantic coast becomes animated in the summer months, when a lot of people
pours on the beaches to escape the heat.
The mountains of the Middle Atlas are interested from a typical mountain climate with snowy winters and
fresh summers. The climate of the tall Atlas follows a similar course, but it is more extreme with rigid
temperature in winter (-20° Cs) and it lasts from October to half June.
In the summer the climate of Marrakech and the inside of Morocco can become suffocating and can easily
overcome the 40°C. these lowlands, situated in front of the desert, are subject to spring storms of sand
(usually in April) and the wind reaches the 10km/h and lifts the elegant sand and the dust in the lowlands.
The south of the country divides into three separate geographical areas: the semitropical Valley of the
Souss, famous for its agrumetis, the bare Tall Atlas and the vast desert region of the western Sahara.
Here the diurnal temperature can overcome the 45°C and can go down at night up to 0°C.
The most suitable season to visit Morocco is in spring (from March to May), when the country is green
and luxuriant. It follows to wheel the autumn (from September to November), particularly pleasant
period after the torrid heat in the summer. In the southern regions the winter is often idyllic, even
if during the night sometimes the weather is really prickly cold.
